The Art of Gathering Online/Offline

One of the things I liked about this video were the sites shown. The website for Tiffany Sia's exhibition was unique and showed off the capabilities of front-end development, while the clips showing the ways people's design processes could happen helped me hone in the idea that building something on the web is an ongoing thing. A site can be improved on even when it seems like the final product, so when creating a site for people to gather, how do you choose its direction? The internet itself is a medium for gathering, and you could argue that most websites you visit are gatherings, although in a different context. You can choose to open up the site experience for anyone who has wifi, or you can lock it up and have only certain people use it. There's many ways to create these types of online gatherings (video chat, watch parties, forums, etc.) and that's why I believe it's important to look at the principles that Priya Parker discusses in 'The Art of Gathering'.

In looking to offline gatherings, they certainly are different now with the pandemic, but if you approach them with an optimistic and creative mindset, I believe you might even sprout up some innovation because you're trying to keep events interesting. Especially when going back to the principles that often makes these things memorable because I find they organize your thoughts better, helping you to execute your vision more effectively.
